LUKAS BROEKHUIS

Lukas Broekhuis grew up in Amersfoort, Holland and graduated from JUNIOR* Academy, where he studied Art Direction (2005-2008). Images from photographers like James Nachtwey, Antonin Kratochvil, Marcus Bleasdale, Lynsey Addario, Franco Pagetti, Vincent Mentzel, Thomas van Houtryve & Herman Leonard had a powerful effect on him and were instrumental in his decision to move further into the reporting field of photography, a study which he finished scoring 8/10 for vision and 9/10 for technique. He has worked as bartender, as a photographer for several military "clients" and whilst teaching himself photography, he did work for over 250 different musicians and bands -amongst who the worlds biggest DJ's in dubstep and drum 'n' bass-, zoo's, municipalitys, recordlabels and party-organizers, several newsagencys throughout Europe and numerous individuals, to photograph portraits, report weddings, party's and funerals or more at request.
He also teaches workshops about photojournalism, zoo-photography (about which a book is available) or common photographic technique.
